windows won't release windows 8.1 update 2

CEO satya Nadella changed directions with microsoft. in a blog the company said they won'trelease another major windows 8.1 update.

the company wants to focus on windows 9 and as we all know they problably want to forget the mistake called windows 8.

Interactive live-tiles

the well known "live tile" is about to get a big change. microsoft is working on interactive live tiles.
It will be possible to scroll through your mail, play music and even have a calculator on the start screen.

Microsoft stops distribution windows 8.1 update 1

microsoft has stopped to ship the new update to system adminstrators. because it contains a bug.
because of that bug, the windows server update service won't recognize new patches to the system.

this is not the only problem during this enroll. normal users also are experiencing trouble like:
the update won't download or freezes at install.

finally windows 8.1 update 1 has leaked, it was available in the windows store a few days ago. now it's still available through P2P networks for download.
if you're going to update it you must be carefull with the order of the 5 updates your pc will be painfully slow during the process and get stuck several times.

Filebrick

Filebrick is one of the most divers file explorers made for windows 8. you can add all your cloud services and local network stations, even YouTube. here's an overview of the cloud services it supports:

it's devided in three main categories: Local, Cloud and Neighbor.

the interface is very clear and optimized for touch screens, i wouldn't recommend it for no-touch devices. if you don't have touch than Windows own file explorer is much better.

 

it's a nice piece of software for touch devices but if you use your mouse than don't install it.

Flipboard



 A Lot of people had flipboar high on their list for windows 8 and windows Phone. And thoses wishes have become true.
flipboard started at ios and became quite a succes now it's availeble for almost any mobile device and windows 8.
Before using flipboard, you just have to pick your interests to get started.

After that you'll have your own personal magazine. all the new updates that suits your interests right on your screen in one app.

when you open the app, you're at the homescreen ^. there you can see some of the news with big pictures when you flip over, you'lle nter one of your chosen category:

Now all we have to do is wait, for the leak.
the Update has already been distributed to microsoft partners all around the world.
But it's official release date is still a  month away.

HERE Maps

about a week ago Nkia released their HERE maps for all of the windows phones RT and 8.1 devices.
today i'm going to do a review of the app.

 

• The app has a feature to find all kinds of interesting places like restaurants and hotels.

• you can also watch buildings in 3D. there's only one disadvantage, only a few buildings/ cities are viewable in 3d. like new york ony the JFK control tower is in 3D.

• The driving directions in the app are detailed but you cant let it follow you down the road.
  you can also get directions for public transport

• You can choose from several map styles: map, satelite, traffic, public transport and street level.

Nokia has made a beautiful app but it's to much like all other apps like google maps etc. but for windows devices it's definately a succes.Ít's fast fluid and a light weight app.

Microsoft is considering "Free windows 8.1 with Bing"

microsoft is currently experimenting with a new free or very cheap version of the new windows:'windows 8.1 With bing'. they're also going to make other licences cheaper.
problably more details are released on the developpers conference in april.

Why uses hate the Windows 8.1 Interface

A lot of people hate the new interface but why, thats very simple. It may be well organized but still there are some haters.

• Hidden Functionalities
  A lot of Old and New function are hidden deep in the new interface, like the shut down menu, people don't want to spend a lot of time to shut down. and it's not the only thing that's hidden there are a lot more things.
• Big change
  some users can't handle the change of the new interface, they just are so well known with the old start menu and they can't handle the big change. if they had done it gradually users didn't have to learn it the hard way.

however i think it's still a major improvement

The first update is going to be releaded the 11th of march, though an early release has already leaked.
the update generally focusses on devices that don't have touchscreens. here are some Features:

• It'll be possible to shut down windows from within the start screen.
• When you open an app it'll be equipped with a Title bar etc like desktop apps
• windows will support bigger screens with more scaling options
• it'll be easier to adjust the start screen to your personal preferences for desktop users, it can be adjusted by right clicking the desired tile.
• search apps directly from start screen
• shortcuts to metro apps directly from Desktop
• when closing an app have the ability to go to the desktop instead of start
• and many more expected

this will be an big update. an update that desktop users have been dreaming of for a year.
